Biography
Born in Cuenca – Ecuador on OctOber 1968. Studied Film Direction at the San Antonio de los Baños International Film and TV School (Cuba, 1988 - 1991). MA in Cultural Studies at the Universidad del Azuay (2002). Film Professor at the San Francisco de Quito University since 1996.
Writer / Director of the Short Films: Ajubel, Cuba, 1989; El Puente Roto, Cuenca-Ecuador, 1991; Aló, Quito-Ecuador, 1999. Assitant Director in: Crónicas (S. Cordero, 2003); Maria Full of Grace (J. Marston, 2002); Proof of Life (T. Hackford, 2000).

En el nombre de la hija (2011)
En el Nombre de la Hija tells the story of a nine-year old girl whose name is in dispute. Manuela has been named alter her socialist-atheist father, but her catholic-conservative grandmother insists she should carry the name the first daughters of the family have carried for generations: Dolores. The story takes place in a Valley in the Ecuadorian Andes, during the summer of 1976. Manuela and her little brother, Camilo, are spending vacations with their cousins and grandparents at the family's farmhouse. More
